EET - Emotional Empowement Technique

EMOTIONAL EMPOWERMENT TECHNIQUE (EET)



When Is EET Useful?

* Disturbing emotions like fear, anger, worry, tension, anxiety, depression etc.

* Physical aches & pains or illnesses.



PRINCIPLE:

The reason behind all emotional disturbances is the disturbed energy system of the body. Whenever we feel these disturbing (negative emotions), the energy meridians get disturbed.



Concept of Reversibility:

We can reverse the energy disturbance by creating a fresh disturbance by stimulating certain energy centers located in close proximity to our physical body. In an attempt to overcome the artificially created disturbance, the person’s vitality sets the system right.



METHOD:

[STEP 1] Focus on the problem in your body and/or mind (Example: Pain or anger etc).


[STEP 2] Get in touch with your thoughts and emotions associated with that complaint/problem.

(Example: ‘Headache reminding you of feeling upset following an argument’ OR ‘Angry when things don’t go your way’)


[STEP 3] Now give this emotion/thought/complaint a number on a scale of 0 – 10, depending on the intensity & severity, zero being no pain or complaint & 10 being the maximum in severity.


[STEP 4] Making the Affirmation:

“Even though I feel/have…………………………………………..but still I choose to heal and integrate that part of me…I love & accept myself deeply & completely”.



Examples:

(1) Even though I have this fear of exams, but still I choose to heal and integrate that part of me…I love & accept myself deeply & completely.

(2) Even though I have this fear of failure, but still I choose to heal and integrate that part of me…I love & accept myself deeply & completely.

(3) Even though I have these nightmares, but still I choose to heal and integrate that part of me…I love & accept myself deeply & completely.

(4) Even though I have this headache, but still I choose to heal and integrate that part of me…I love & accept myself deeply & completely.

(5) Even though I have this stiffness in my neck, but still I choose to heal and integrate that part of me…I love & accept myself deeply & completely.

(6) Even though I have this craving for junk food/chocolates, but still I choose to heal and integrate that part of me…I love & accept myself deeply & completely.

(7) Even though I am feeling very upset as my teacher scolded me, but still I choose to heal and integrate that part of me…I love & accept myself deeply & completely.

(8) Even though I am feeling angry towards my mother, but still I choose to heal and integrate that part of me…I love & accept myself deeply & completely.



[STEP 5] Say the affirmation Three Times, loudly with emphasis, while gently rubbing/tapping the edge of the palm (Karate chop area) OR while rubbing the knees with the palms.



[STEP 6] Then, gently rub the thymus point (in the middle of the breast bone) OR simply place both the palms in the centre of the chest for the count of seven breaths.



NOTE: Steps [5] & [6] complete one full round of EET



[STEP 7] Reassess the feeling or complaint you have worked upon, to see the change and,

1) If the problem is relieved totally, stop & go on to the next emotion that may crop up.



2) If the problem is relieved partially, then mentally give it a number between 0 – 10, & start another round of EET saying the slightly modified affirmation:



“Even though I am feeling/having this remaining………………………………………

but still I choose to heal and integrate that part of me…I love and accept myself deeply and completely.”



Then, gently rub the thymus point (in the middle of the breast bone) OR simply place both the palms in the centre of the chest for the count of seven breaths.


(Example: “Even though I have this remaining headache, but still I choose to heal and integrate that part of me…I love & accept myself deeply & completely” OR “Even though I have this remaining anger, but still I choose to heal and integrate that part of me…I love & accept myself deeply & completely”)


3) If there is no change at all, you are probably holding on to your complaint/problem. In such a situation do the EET by saying “Even though I am holding on to this…………………………………………………………………………………………but still I choose to heal and integrate that part of me…I love & accept myself deeply & completely.”

(Example: “Even though I am holding on to this headache, but still I choose to heal and integrate that part of me…I love & accept myself deeply & completely” OR “Even though I am holding on to my anger, but still I choose to heal and integrate that part of me…I love & accept myself deeply & completely”)


[STEP 8] Do the process till the complaint/problem comes down to “0” OR till you feel completely fine.



[STEP 9] CLOSURE: Close your eyes and think of someone or something you love.



NOTE:

* Say the affirmation loudly with feeling & emphasis rather than saying it mechanically.

* EET can be done anywhere, anytime & any number of times till there are no issues or problems.

*Yawning, sighing, coughing, passing gas are very commonly seen signs & indicate that this technique is working effectively.
